To grant critical funding to nonprofit organizations providing breast cancer screening, treatment, and outreach programs to an often underserved population and support vital research in an effort to find a cure for breast cancer.
Meet The Board
Charlotte Webb Smith (President)
As a breast cancer survivor, I wanted to give back but struggled to find the right organization until I discovered Pledge the Pink Foundation. I saw an ad for the PTP Event and decided I was going all in-go big or go home. In addition to PTPF’s mission, one of the biggest draws for me is that PTPF allows fundraisers to direct 75% of donations to an approved charity if they meet fundraising goals. Did I really think I could do 30 miles in 3 days?? Did I think I could raise enough money to be able to select my charity of choice to donate to?? Last year, I joined the PTP event, completed 30 miles in three days, and surpassed my fundraising target, which inspired me even more. I had the best weekend laughing, crying, singing, dancing and uplifted those that came before me and supporting those that I met in SC. PTP is an amazing event and PTPF is such a great organization, I knew I needed to be involved in an even bigger way (remember go big or go home)! I am honored to serve as President on the Pledge the Pink Foundation Board am committed to helping it grow so that we can expand our impact and support organizations working toward a cure.
Christina Galbreath-Gonzalez. (Treasurer)
I’m Christina Galbreath-Gonzalez, and I’m honored to serve on the board of the Pledge the Pink Foundation. I’ve been involved since the early Carolina Cup days – starting as a participant and volunteer, and for the past five+ years, as part of the A-Team working behind the scenes to help bring it all together (and yes, that includes a love/hate relationship with flamingos).
My connection to this cause is deeply personal – my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at 37 and, after a double mastectomy, is still a proud survivor today. I also lost a dear friend, Julie Roth, at just 40 years old, which continues to fuel my commitment to this mission.
Plus, I love our Flockstars! Being part of this foundation means more than I can put into words. I’m proud to support the work that funds screening, treatment, outreach, and research, and to stand alongside a community that shows up in such a big, LOUD! and meaningful way.
